About
Thirty years on both sides of the table.
A career spent owning, operating, acquiring, exiting, advising and investing — with direct experience of the decisions, risks and outcomes involved.

Who I am today
I’m Ased Iqbal. My professional life has been spent around real businesses — as an owner, operator, entrepreneur, acquirer, investor, adviser, valuation practitioner and transaction professional.
Today I apply that experience selectively through acquisitions, strategic partnerships and the occasional advisory engagement. The thread running through all of it is practical judgement shaped by direct responsibility for businesses and transactions.
Ownership & operations
More than 30 years in business — building, owning and operating companies across wholesale and distribution, manufacturing, e-commerce, property and business services.
That background brings the perspective that only comes from having capital, people and outcomes personally at risk: the reality of customers, cash, decisions and responsibility for the result.
Acquisitions & transactions
Corporate finance and M&A work since 2018, with more than 1,000 acquisition opportunities reviewed across sectors, sizes and situations.
Valuation, financial analysis, transaction structuring and negotiation — informed by experience from both sides: as an owner and buyer with capital at risk, and as an adviser working on the transaction.
Current work
Today I am Acquisitions Director at IBG Group, alongside my own acquisition, strategic partnership and selective advisory activity.
That practical perspective shapes how I look at a business today: commercially, financially and from the perspective of the people behind it — with an appreciation of the responsibility carried by owners, management teams and transaction participants.

Philosophy
Relationships first. Commercial reality over wishful thinking. Long-term value over short-term optics. Judgement grounded in people and numbers — and the patience to do the right thing rather than the easy one.
